A helicopter crash on Davis Island, FL ended in heroics earlier this week and one of the heroes that assisted in saving four people was Bucs backup quarterback Blaine Gabbert. Gabbert, 33, is in his 12th NFL season and fourth with the Bucs. He played college football at Missouri from 2008-2010 and is a former first round draft pick of the Jacksonville Jaguars.

The helicopter reportedly went down due to engine failure and Gabbert happened to be out in the bay for a leisurely day of jet skiing when the incident occurred.

The Tampa Bay Times reported three people on the helicopter quickly got out, Hunter Hupp struggled to free himself after the crash.

Fortunately, he was able to get out as individuals (including Gabbert) came to the rescue. With Gabbert and others ready and willing to help, everyone made it home safely.
