The Chiefs ended the 2022 NFL Draft with high praise among national media and fans alike. The team were able to add key depth to the roster with 10 selections. The final pick of this year’s draft came at selection #259 with Marshall DB Nazeeh Johnson.

On Wednesday, Nazeeh as kind enough to join us for an interview to talk about his football journey, being selected by KC and the fact that he’s a small-town guy at heart.

“What I don’t like is you have to take the interstate to get anywhere, you can’t take back roads and I’m a big small town guy” Johnson mentioned while wearing a cowboy hat during the interview. “I’ve seen how pristine this organization it’s something that you don’t take lightly.”

While being drafted by the Chiefs was a huge honor for Nazeeh, he knows the real work begins now. The Chiefs selected four corners in this draft alone along with safety Bryan Cook from Cincinnati so the competition will be fierce come training camp.

The 5’10, 200 lb Johnson was a very impressive at his Pro Day, running a 4.35-second 40-yard dash and a 6.97-second three-cone drill. Nazeeh played a lot in the slot, but also played safety in the box when called upon. Johnson’s best shot to make the roster will likely come as a special teamer but he’s focusing on making the most of this opportunity.
