The Kansas City Chiefs have a very unique history with roots going back to Dallas, Texas. Originally nicknamed the Texans, the franchise moved to Kansas City in 1963 and formed a completely new identity as the Chiefs became a power in the American Football League.

There are many facts about the Chiefs identify that are widely known, such as the team being named after Mayor Bartle, AKA The Chief. What many don’t realize is that the now-famous KC arrowhead logo was fashioned after…the 49ers? That’s right, Lamar Hunt liked the look of the “SF” font placement and aimed to make the Chiefs logo look similar. The rest, as they say, is history.
