As of Sunday morning, January 8th, the NFL has still made no final decision on where the AFC Championship game will be played should KC and Buffalo meet. Friday, the city of Indianapolis was ruled out due to a scheduling conflict. It’s been said that NFL commissioner Roger Goodell will make the final call but hasn’t ruled out an outdoor stadium.

Here’s where things get interesting. Pittsburgh, PA sports radio host Andrew Fillipponi (937 The Fan), has reported that he’s heard from a source that the game could be played in Pittsburgh at Acrishure Stadium. Some of the reasons being given is it’s Damar Hamlin’s hometown and a suitable outdoor venue for teams that play home games in outdoor stadiums. Now the Steelers are still in the playoff race themselves, but can only get in as a wildcard so they would not be playing any home games in the playoffs.

AFC Championship in Pittsburgh?
