Patrick Mahomes’ nearly two-hour interview on the Kelce brothers “New Heights Podcast” has been the talk of the NFL for the past couple days. Mahomes went in-depth on the ins and outs of being drafted, his chemistry with Travis Kelce and even the importance of Alex Smith in his development.
Mahomes sat behind Alex Smith for the entire 2017 after being drafted #10 overall and Mahomes described in detail just how much Smith taught up during that season.
“He welcomed me into that quarterback room. He didn’t have to do that.” Mahomes said of Smith. “Having Alex man, it probably made my game jump three steps when I could have took three years to get those three steps.
