Patrick Mahomes battling through a high ankle sprain to become a two-time Super Bowl MVP has become the stuff of legends. Not only have the Kansas City Chiefs won a second Super Bowl title in four seasons, but the team franchise has become the new gold-standard in the NFL. While the team was down 24-14 at halftime, Patrick Mahomes (while suffering from an injury) came up with a firy halftime speech that helped get things turned around for KC. Chiefs guard Trey Smith was a guest on Good Morning Football and discussed the impact of that speech.
“Looking back on it, he came up limping a little bit, you don’t ever want to see that.” Smith said. “He comes flying out of the locker room, it’s like this moment now, we need you guys.”
