As if Bears fans haven’t been through enough over the past 35 years… The Parkins and Spiegel Show on 670 The Fan recently spoke with Pat Mahomes Sr., father of Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes. Things really got interesting when Pat informed the hosts just how close his son was to becoming a Chicago Bear on draft day 2017.
Pat said he thought his son would be the 3rd overall pick and go to the Bears until they moved up to draft Mitchell Trubisky. According to Pat “it kind of hurt him.”
The hosts reaction to this news is both sad and hilariously priceless as the Bears struck out with Trubisky and Mahomes has gone on to lead the Chiefs to two Super Bowl wins in Mahomes’ five years as a starter.
