Sometimes a man finally has to be able to admit when he’s licked. That was the case for former Jets/Browns coach Eric Mangini this week as he spoke out about Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes on Fox Sports’ “First Things First.” Mangini, long known as a Mahomes hater who frequently bashed the former NFL and Super Bowl MVP on various NFL related programs, has finally relaxed his stance.
“You know I’ve been slow to get on the Mahomes train.” Mangini said on First Things First. ” Look, he’s by far the best player in the NFL right now.”
Certainly it takes a really strong person to admit when they are wrong and we applaud Mangini for publicly stating so. Who knows how long the good will will last but it’s sure a nice gesture for the holiday season.
