The Golden State Warriors outscored the visiting Cleveland Cavaliers 10-2 in overtime to win Game 1 of the 2015 NBA Finals.
Lebron James’ 44 points were not enough as a spirited road effort by Cleveland fell short inside a raucous Oracle Arena Thursday Night. The Warriors got off to a slow start before the tandem of Klay Thompson (21 points) and Steph Curry (26 points) took over and helped Golden State send the game into overtime before eventually seperating themselves in the 108-100 victory.
Could this game be a sign of things to come for the Cavs? James’ 44 points were an NBA Finals career high, yet it was obvious that the rest of the roster was not up to the task (aside from a tremendous effort by guard Kyrie Irving who limped off the court near the end of the game).
