Chiefs safety Tyrann Mathieu has been very vocal over the past year about receiving a contract extension with the Kansas City Chiefs. Mathieu, who is currently battling his way through concussion protocol, is still unsure as to whether or not he will be available when the Chiefs battle the Bengals on Sunday in the AFC Championship game.

Back in 2019, Mathieu signed a 3 year, $42,000,000 contract with the Kansas City Chiefs, including a $14,800,000 signing bonus, $26,800,000 guaranteed, and an average annual salary of $14,000,000. Mathieu will turn 30 this may which creates a dilemma for the Chiefs when it comes to extending his deal.

On Wednesday, a fan tweeted to Mathieu with regards to his future in KC and the response was very interesting.

Could Mathieu be referencing his potential exit from Kansas City by responding to the tweet which referenced Chiefs fans that do NOT want him to stay or could it be that a contract extension is on the horizon which would make most fans happy? Apparently we’ll all find out “sooner than later.”
