With rumors swirling that the Chiefs may be interested in trading for a receiver, prior to the NFL Draft, NFL.com Senior Analyst Jeffri Chadiha is reporting that the team is unlikely to do so.
The Chiefs currently sit with 12 picks in next week’s draft which is why speculation of a trade was so prominent. Deebo Samuel, DK Metcalf, A.J. Brown and Terry McLaurin could all be on the trade block but it appears Kansas City is ok with waiting for the draft for a receiver.
Chadiha refers to the aforementioned players as “long shots” for Kansas City.
As things stand, the Chiefs have picks 29 and 30 in the first round. Whether or not the team will attempt to package picks to move up remains to be seen but there are a plethora of receivers that could be impact players in Andy Reid’s offense.
