Just weeks after calling Patrick Mahomes‘ current contract “criminal” by league standards, Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio is now reporting that the Chiefs could be looking to make Mahomes the highest paid player in the NFL once again before the season starts.
Back in 2020, Mahomes signed a 10-year, $450 million dollar extension which made him the highest paid player at the time. Currently, as things sit, Mahomes is the seventh-highest paid QB and the Chiefs would have to top Lamar Jackson’s recent $52 million per year.
