The Orioles overcome a shaky outing from Ubaldo Jimenez, rally from an early 3-0 defecit to take the lead & eventually pull away to beat the Marlins Friday in Miami.
Delmon Young got the rally started in the 5th inning with an RBI double off the wall in center. In the 6th, it was a throwing error by Miami starter Henderson Alvarez that allowed the Orioles’s to tie the game at 3 while Caleb Joseph’s two-run single put the Orioles ahead to stay. Joseph & Jimmy Paredes have three hits a piece, Joseph drove in and scores two, Manny Machado provided two hits, including a two-run double in the 8th to give Baltimore some insurance. Dee Gordon stole four bases for Miami & Justin Bour homers (#2) off off Brad Brach in the 9th, but Zach Britton records the final out for the Save. Game 2 is tonight.
