Now that the dust has settled on the 2022 NFL Draft, teams are scrambling to add remains free agents to their roster. According to a report from ESPN Senior NFL Insider Adam Schefter, the New Orleans Saints are making an “aggressive push” to add Tyrann Mathieu to their roster.
After failing to land an extension with the Chiefs, Mathieu headed to free agency where he has remained unsigned since March. Over the past three seasons, Mathieu is tied for fifth in the NFL with 13 interceptions although the Pro Bowler will turn 30 later this year. After visiting both New Orleans and Philadelphia this offseason, it appears the Saints emerge as the heavy favorites to land Mathieu’s services.
