One of the unsung heroes of the 2022 Chief Super Bowl team was running back Jerick McKinnon, who became one of Mahomes’ biggest threats out of the backfield. McKinnon racked up nine receiving touchdowns in 2022 but was only in KC on a one-year-deal. Now, receiver Kadarius Toney is making his case to get McKinnon back for another season.
While McKinnon will be 31 next month, he clearly still possesses the skillset to be a difference maker in the Chiefs backfield. The entire Chiefs receiving corps totaled 14 touchdowns on the season while McKinnon hauled in nine by himself. Former Chief Juan Thornhill is making a play to get Jerick to sign with Cleveland but Toney isn’t having it.
