The Dallas Cowboys brought in Michael Sam, the high profile defensive end out of Missouri, when he was released by the St. Louis Rams after spending preseason with them. Michael has remained on the Cowboys practice squad so that he could develop as a player after making several impressive plays during his short stint as a Ram. Today, the Cowboys made a surprising roster move with Michael Sam.

The Dallas Cowboys have released Michael Sam from their practice squad and it’s starting to look like his tweener body type may keep him from making a 53 man roster in the NFL. During the combine Mike Mayock of NFL Network said that he was too small to play 4-3 defensive end and he’s too stiff in the hips to be a 3-4 outside linebacker. Michael should get another chance on a practice squad fairly soon, but so far he’s 0 for 2.
