Another good night of college hoops is in the books, and another tough night of trying to decide who is a finalist for the SOTN is also finished. I had another handful of players that just missed the cut, so if you can think of one who is not on here, tell us why they should be in the comments below.
- Tyler Kalinoski (Davidson) – Davidson needed a signature win for their resume and they may have gotten one last night. The Wildcats defeated the Dayton Flyers 77-60 last night. Kalinoski, a senior from Overland Park, KS, was one of the big reasons why. He put up 21 pts, 4 rebs, 6 assts, 1 blk and 2 stls in the victory. Kalinoski has been on a tear lately, having big offensive games and mixing in very good defensive performances as well.
- John Jordan (Texas A&M Corpus Christi) – Jordan was the man for his team in last nights win, 88-76, over Northwestern State. Jordan is no stranger to playing well in big games and did not disappoint last night. The 5′ 10″ senior had 22 pts, 5 rebs, 11 assts and 1 stl. He is not a big guy, but as you can see by this stat line, his size does not affect him. If you ever get a chance, try to watch this kid play.
- Desharick Guidry (McNeese State) – The 6′ 5″ senior forward for the Cowboys was outstanding last night. He had 21 pts, 16 rebs, 4 assts, and 1 stl in a 63-56 win over Abilene Christian. The first thing I know I was thinking was, “Dang, that is a lot of rebounds for a 6-5 dude. Then you go and look at his season stats, and the guy averages over 11 rebounds a game. This kid is impressive as he averages a double-double, and has only had 4 games with less than 9 rebounds on the entire season! Seeing his stats makes me wonder if he is a young Kenneth Faried.
