Patrick Mahomes’ ankle injury was the talk of the NFL universe on Saturday. The Chiefs were able to hold off the Jacksonville Jaguars 27-20 despite Mahomes suffering the injury in the first quarter of the game. An MRI showed that Mahomes suffered a high ankle sprain. Andy Reid’s Zoom with the media on Monday revealed much of the same but he did provide a positive update.

Coach Reid referenced Mahomes’ ankle injury that he suffered week 1 in 2019 against the Jaguars and stated that injury was worse than this one. Mahomes finished that game and played the next week throwing for four touchdowns in a 28-10 win over the Raiders.
