The NFL’s new kickoff rule is getting positive reviews from exactly…no one. Just days after it was announced that kick returners can now call a fair catch and the team automatically gets the ball at the 25 yard line, multiple NFL players, coaches and fans have spoken out against the rule. Yesterday, Andy Reid himself likened the new kickoff rule to “flag football” and today, on the New Heights Podcast, Travis and Jason Kelce are slamming the rule.
“I think it’s making (the game) more boring,” Travis Kelce said. “This is whack! It’s taking away from the excitement of kickoffs, I love kickoffs. It’s so dumb.”
