Willie Gay’s pick six last Sunday against Denver put the team up 27-0 with four minutes to go in the second quarter. The team would only need one more score in the second half to put the game away but the pick by Gay was certainly one of the defensive highlights of the 2022 season.
Gay’s touchdown was only the second Chiefs defensive score of the year, the first coming in week two from Jaylen Watson. The play was featured on “Sights and Sounds” this week and showed Patrick Mahomes reacting in shock to the play as it happened live.
