Former All-Pro DE Whitney Mercilus was released just three days ago by the Houston Texans, the very team that drafted the talented player back in 2012.
The Kansas City Chiefs, of course, have major defensive issues currently, giving up an NFL worse 6.7 yards per play. The team’s decision to move Pro Bowler Chris Jones to DE has proven to be disastrous and it’s been widely speculated that the Chiefs could be interested in the 31-year-old Mercilus.
Former Chief Jeff Allen Reaches Out
Jeff Allen, a former Chiefs guard reached out to Mercilus on Twitter and, from the looks of it, Whitney is at least pondering the idea of joining the defending AFC champions.
