Travis Kelce’s career blossomed in a hurry while Alex Smith was the QB for the Kansas City Chiefs. The duo played together for five seasons before Smith was traded to the Redskins and Patrick Mahomes took over. Today on Sirius XM NFL Radio, Kelce chatted with his former teammate about what makes he and Mahomes’ relationship so special on the field.

“The one thing that Pat does naturally better than any quarterback I’ve ever been around is improvising when the play breaks down,” Kelce explained. “You almost get more excited when the play breaks down.”
