NFL players kneeling for the National Anthem made worldwide headlines back in 2016/2017. While it hasn’t been an issue lately, the controversy still remains in the eyes of many Americans. On a recent episode of Arrowhead Allies, Patrick Mahomes’ father, Pat Sr., discussed his son’s upbringing and his leadership skills.
Pat went on to say that during the period where players were kneeling for the anthem that Patrick called him for advice on what he should do.
“I want to do what I’m supposed to do but I don’t think I should kneel,” Mahomes Sr. claimed Patrick told him. “I think I should stand for the anthem.”
