“Joe Burrow is the guy now. This guy carried a team from a four-win season all the way to a drive away from winning the ‘ship. The AFC is loaded with young talent but none of those guys are coming off a campaign like this guy had.”

Mahomes vs. Burrow
By year two, Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes had already been NFL MVP and Super Bowl MVP. In 2021, Mahomes had more yards than Burrow (4,800 to 4,600) touchdowns (37-34) and one less interception but the national media is always ready to move on to the next big thing.
