It’s a video that is equal parts hilarious and heartbreaking. The Bengals were doing their best to keep the Chiefs from a game-ending score during Sunday’s AFC Championship Game but a late hit penalty on Bengals LB Joseph Ossai gave the Chiefs the needed yardage to win with a field goal. The win sends the Chiefs to their third Super Bowl in four seasons while the Bengals will have to deal with the misery all offseason.
For Bengals radio broadcasters Dan Hoard and Dave Lapham, the penalty was a horrifying experience as they knew it was likely going to result in a Chiefs game winner.
