Despite the searing heat, hundreds of fans converged on Kansas City’s Power and Light District to take part in the 2014 SEC Block Party. Fans from most (if not all of) the 14 SEC teams were represented which provides further proof that Kansas City is in fact “SEC country.” The event was presented by the Mizzou Alumni Association and the Tiger Club of KC and there is no doubt that a change in venue from the Brooksider to Mcfaddens was just what the event needed. The  mood was celebratory during the four-hour event as fans of different teams mingled and talked football while watching video highlights on the big screen.

The third-annual party was hosted by 810 WHB’s Steven St. John, a die-hard Mizzou fan who helped keep the crowd engaged in the festivities despite the heat. A couple former Tigers including Steve Redmond, Marcus Lucas and Tommy Saunders even stopped by to help support their alma mater.
