The penalty heard round the world took place Sunday afternoon at Lucas Oil Stadium as the Chiefs lost to the Colts in dramatic fashion. Chiefs DT Chris Jones was flagged late for a 15 yard personal foul penalty which kept the Colts’ final drive alive.

Since the penalty was called, the football world has questioned what Jones said and no one is seemingly coming forward with the exact quote. However, a league source has cited the post-game report from referee Shawn Smith. It states that Jones used “disturbing language” and that there is “no place for it in professional football.”

The source also says that the official believes he should have referenced taunting in accordance with Rule 12, Section 3, Article 1. The Chiefs will now have to face the Tampa Bay Buccaneers after the inexplicable loss and will hope to avoid falling to 2-2 for the second consecutive season.
