While humility and being able to admit wrong-doing is somehow lost on today’s society, the Chiefs should be thankful for Patrick Mahomes. The Chiefs cruised to a drama-free yet sluggish win over the L.A. Rams on Sunday, a game in which Mahomes thew just one touchdown and an interception. After the game, Mahomes was interviewed by Fox Sports’ Erin Andrews and his comments were refreshing.

“We didn’t execute at a high level in the red zone,” Mahomes said after the game. “I threw the dumb interception at the end of the game, but the defense stepped up.”

These type of comments, so commonplace in decades past, has slowly eroded in today’s me-first society. Mahomes propping up his defense while admitting his red zone mistake shows a supreme level of leadership and poise.
