Davis belt a 2-run homer (#9) to give the Orioles the 3-1 lead in the 4th, a 4 run inning for Baltimore. Steve Pearce then followed with a homer (#6) as well, as he and Davis went back to back, the Orioles scored 4 runs in the 4th. Jimmy Paredes stole home, as he & Adam Jones pulled off a double steal in the same inning for the Orioles’s first run. Houston tied it on Evan Gattis’ 2-run shot (#10) off of Orioles starter Ubaldo Jimenez in the 7th and the Orioles had to be orioles 33thinking here we go again. Then Chris Davis strolled to the plate in the 8th and changed the outcome of perhaps the Orioles season. Davis homered for the 2nd time in the game (#10) to put the Orioles ahead 5-4 and they were able to hang on this time. Zach Britton worked the 9th, allowing a 2 out double to Jose Altuve, but closed it out. Paredes, Jones, Davis and Hardy all have 2 hits for the Orioles. The Orioles take the series from the AL West Division leading Astros. Baltimore will now play Chicago for 2 in a doubleheader to make up the 2 games that were postponed due to a civil uprising in Baltimore on April 27 & 28th.
