Earlier the week, the Chiefs declined to put the franchise tag on left tackle Orlando Brown Jr. This means that Brown is free to sign with another team after playing two years in KC. According to various reports, the Chicago Bears covet Brown after QB Justin Fields was sacked 55 times a year ago. The Bears are prepared to overpay for Brown if necessary which means it is now a near certainty he won’t be back in KC next season.
Last season, Brown played under the tag on a $16.6 million dollar deal. He allowed just seven sacks in two seasons in Kansas City.
