College football’s National Signing Day never fails to produce drama and intrigue and Mizzou’s first year head coach Eliah Drinkwitz was able to work a little magic of his own this morning.
Wednesday morning, the Tigers got an important, yet largely unexpected, commitment from highly-touted Duncanville, TX corner Ennis Rakestraw. The 6’0, 170 lb corner chose Mizzou over the likes of Alabama, Texas and many others making this an even bigger coupe for coach Drinkwitz.
Rakestraw said said he related to Missouri DC Ryan Walters because Walters was a coach who bet on himself and beat the odds. Rakestraw also bet on himself, and he plays with a similar chip on his shoulder.
According to rivals.com, Mizzou currently sits at 17 commitments for the 2020 class with a total team ranking of 54 at the present time.
