As has become the norm in today’s college football landscape, Missouri head coach Eli Drinkwitz has been busy hitting the transfer portal to add much needed depth for the 2022 season.
Mizzou currently boasts the 12th-ranked 2022 recruiting class in the country (according to Rivals.com) and added a late piece to that class this weekend with Louisiana LB Carmycah Glass. The official class will be announced Wednesday on national signing day.
With eight players already lost to the transfer portal, the Tigers have been able to add 10 key pieces for 2022.
Missouri transfer portal additions

- DL Jayden Jernigan (Oklahoma State)
- CB Dreyton Norwood (Texas A&M)
- RB Nathaniel Peat (Stanford)
- LB Tyrone Hopper (North Carolina)
- OL Dylan Spencer (Jackson State)

Raising the bar in 2022
While Missouri was able to win three out of its final five games to finish bowl eligible in 2021, you certainly hope to see more progress this season. Currently, Eli Drinkwitz’s record at Mizzou sits at 11-12 and with a fresh batch of transfers and back-to-back top 25 recruiting classes you hope to see progress on the field.
Missouri’s schedule does it no favors in 2022 but there should be hope of young talent meshing with the transfers listed above. For real progress to be shown, you would like to see Mizzou finish 7-5 at minimum. That would ensure the fanbase keeps its faith in the current regime and that things are headed in a positive direction. 2023 may provide the real litmus test as to whether or not this program can compete with the top of the division.
