Athens, GA
The Missouri Tigers began SEC play with a less-than-stellar performance against the Georgia Bulldogs Wednesday night in front of a small, unenthusiastic crowd at Stegeman Coliseum.
The loss marks Missouri’s 7th loss against a Power 5 opponent and wins Arkansas-Pine Bluff and Savannah State seem like a distant memory in the mind of Tiger fans. Missouri was able to win against poor competition but have proven to be outclassed by better teams, which included a 37 point embarrassment against Arizona. Many around the basketball program are wondering if coach Kim Anderson is the right coach to continue this rebuilding process.
Kim Anderson is clearly a good person and proved himself as a coach at the Division II level, winning a national championship at UCM, but has been unable to make progress during his time at Missouri thus far. One would think that the Tigers need a win over either Auburn or Arkansas in upcoming games or all hope may be lost. The SEC is clearly a down conference but wins could still be hard to come by unless vast improvement is made.
