Tyreek Hill and Davante Adams wanted to be in their new spots, Miami and Las Vegas respectively. They both left great situations and great quarterbacks for questionable ones. Time will tell how these decisions work out, but Michael Irvin thinks it was a bad decision!
Michael Irvin on Tyreek & Davante
โYou left Aaron Rodgers and Patrick Mahomes โ I donโt know if I couldโve ever left Troy Aikman,โ Irvin said, via Ryan Glasspiegel of the New York Post. โI donโt think I couldโve done that.โ
โYou can still go live there in your house in the offseason, but Iโm not leaving those quarterbacks,โ Irvin said. โLetโs see how this plays out. Youโre making $30 million and you can have houses in two places. I think the most important thing is taking care of whatโs on the football field. . . .
โThey had some great quarterbacks. Iโm interested in seeing how it works out with Tua [Tagovailoa] and [Derek] Carr, but itโs surely not Mahomes and Rodgers. If you make that move, do you shorten the time youโre making $30 million a year because all of a sudden, youโre not making the same impact? This is a meritocracy. If youโre not putting up the numbers to support that $30 million, theyโll come for you, just like Dallas did withย Amari Cooperย and his $20 million. It wouldโve been hard for me to make a business decision on leaving those quarterbacks.โ
