Tyreek Hill and Davante Adams wanted to be in their new spots, Miami and Las Vegas respectively. They both left great situations and great quarterbacks for questionable ones. Time will tell how these decisions work out, but Michael Irvin thinks it was a bad decision!

Michael Irvin on Tyreek & Davante

โ€œYou left Aaron Rodgers and Patrick Mahomes โ€” I donโ€™t know if I couldโ€™ve ever left Troy Aikman,โ€ Irvin said, via Ryan Glasspiegel of the New York Post. โ€œI donโ€™t think I couldโ€™ve done that.โ€

โ€œYou can still go live there in your house in the offseason, but Iโ€™m not leaving those quarterbacks,โ€ Irvin said. โ€œLetโ€™s see how this plays out. Youโ€™re making $30 million and you can have houses in two places. I think the most important thing is taking care of whatโ€™s on the football field. . . .

โ€œThey had some great quarterbacks. Iโ€™m interested in seeing how it works out with Tua [Tagovailoa] and [Derek] Carr, but itโ€™s surely not Mahomes and Rodgers. If you make that move, do you shorten the time youโ€™re making $30 million a year because all of a sudden, youโ€™re not making the same impact? This is a meritocracy. If youโ€™re not putting up the numbers to support that $30 million, theyโ€™ll come for you, just like Dallas did withย Amari Cooperย and his $20 million. It wouldโ€™ve been hard for me to make a business decision on leaving those quarterbacks.โ€
