Steve Young stirred up just a little controversy during his recent appearance on Monday Night Countdown with some of the comments he made about Ravens QB Lamar Jackson. Jackson, who is entering his fifth year as a starter, is 37-12 during the regular season in his career but has only one playoff win to show for it. Young believe that falls on the Ravens, not on Lamar.

“And now you’re asking, ‘Why isn’t he paid to be Patrick Mahomes?’ Because they haven’t given him a chance to be Patrick Mahomes,” Young said. “So until they do, Lamar Jackson’s damned because of what the Ravens are doing, not because of Lamar Jackson.”

Young went on to say that Jackson could be the “greatest player in the history of the game” if trained properly in a sophisticated passing offense.
