As a recent VIP attendee of the NASCAR Digital Ally 400, Chris Klieman was more than happy to share some thoughts on the upcoming football season after “soaking in” his experience at Kansas Speedway.

There is no doubt it’s been quite a whirlwind for Klieman, K-State’s new head coach, who will be transitioning from FCS’s North Dakota State. His Bison just won yet another National Championship back in December and now he hopes to bring similar success to Manhattan.

I’m still learning.” Klieman said prior to Saturday’s race. ” Obviously in 15 practices I was really pleased with the progress we made. I’m excited about the senior class we have and I know they are hungry.”

Klieman was also asked about the health of his former quarterback at North Dakota State Carson Wentz, who will finally get his chance to lead the Philadelphia Eagles offense as the unopposed starter in 2019.

I’ve talked to (Carson) a lot, he’s getting healthier.” Klieman said. “I don’t think he’ll do a whole lot as far as pre-season games and things like that. When he’s healthy, I don’t think there’s much better than him.”
