The recency bias on @TeamJuJu has been very strong on Twitter. Let's take a step back and consider his entire career for a minute and what that might mean about his 2022 season in KC (a long thread):

We'll start with the first game in his rookie year where he got more than 6 targets. Is that fair? I think it is. We expect rookie WRs to start slow. Nobody was playing him in lineups until he showed out in Week 8 of 2017

Let's look at another WR who comps well to JuJu who has been a WR3 even more often…like, say, 46% of the time over the last 5 years. I mean, that really sucks right? We want more out of a starting WR than that, right?

So who is that WR?

I'm going to mention in passing that Keenan Allen was 25 years old when he started that incredible run and that he was coming off of 2 straight injury-ruined seasons.

JuJu is also currently 25 years old and will be for most of the 2022 season. Injured 2 of past 3 seasons.

Well that's great Dan. But what about the past 3 years?

In 2019, JuJu was catching passes from Develin "Duck" Hodges and Mason Rudolph. Additionally he missed 8 games to 3 injuries:
Toe Sprain (3 games)
Concussion (1 game)
Knee Sprain (4 games)

JuJu also missed 12 games in 2021 with a sprained shoulder which required surgery. This injury was completely unrelated to his 2019 injuries and also is not an injury that should linger into 2022 as he returned to play in the Steelers playoff game last year.

The Chiefs sent 373 tgts to Tyreek, Kelce, CEH, and D Williams last year.

The 2017 Steelers sent 353 passes to AB, Lev Bell, and Martavis Bryant. JuJu was WR20 on 79 tgts

The 2018 Steelers sent 340 passes to AB, Conner/Samuels and Vance McDonald. JuJu was WR8 on 166 tgts

JuJu has had positive FPOE every season he's been healthy and now joins an elite QB

If you can buy 25 y.o. JuJu for an early 2nd in Dynasty, that's a great bet.

In best-ball, if you can get him in the 7th round or later, that's likely to be profitable as well.
