Hoover, AL- Jimbo Fisher addressed members of the media last Tuesday as part of SEC Media Days. His demeanor cool and collected with a hint of quiet confidence about him.
Perhaps it’s the fact that Texas A&M‘s path to potential glory has been exponentially accelerated under the 2nd-year coach. Afterall, the Aggies surpassed even the fanbase and their lofty expectations in route to a 9-win-season in 2018. Fisher’s young team rose to the occasion time and again as they were able to knock off two top-15 teams in SEC play.
With early success comes even larger expectations and the Aggies are picked to finish 3rd in the SEC West by the media. Armed with a bevy of young talent and returning quarterback Kellen Mond, Texas A&M will play a major role in the SEC West in 2019.
Head coach Jimbo Fisher was asked about his first year a Texas A&M and what it’s been like for him being a part of a school with such great tradition.
“Listen, College Station, Texas A&M, it doesn’t get any better.” Fisher said to GASN Sports. “The 12th man is second to none.“
It was a major coupe for A&M to reel Fisher away from Florida State and the ACC in the first place, however, it’s very clear that this job is Fisher’s zenith.
