In the eight days since the Chiefs emerged victorious in Super Bowl LVII, many have pointed to RB Jerick McKinnon’s “selfless act” which allowed KC to run the clock down and kick a game-winning field goal. Many have speculated that this is something that can’t be taught or coached but something that comes from deep within the player. Not so fast says Jerick McKinnon who spoke with Fox 4’s Harold Kuntz about the moment.
““I didn’t really think too much of it because that’s how we were coached…” McKinnon stated. “That’s how coach Reid coaches us. When that play came up, obviously, I didn’t understand the magnitude of it until after it happened to see everyone else’s reaction, it’s all been a blessing.”
