Arrowhead Stadium is turning 50 this year and the Chiefs have unveiled a new look to GEHA Field ahead of Thursday’s game against the Los Angeles Chargers. Arrowhead Stadium first opened in 1972 and has seen many changes over the years.

Once adorned in Astro Turf, the field remained in this condition until 1994 when natural grass was put in. The Chiefs are clearly going for a retro look to the field as evidenced by the end zones, font and midfield logo.
