According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, Chiefs offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy will interview for the Atlanta Falcons head coaching vacancy.
According to the report, the Falcons will interview two candidates tomorrow via Zoom, the other being 49ers defensive coordinator Robert Saleh. The Falcons parted ways with coach Dan Quinn and GM Thomas Dimitroff back in October following an abysmal 0-5 start to the season.
Bieniemy, 51, joined the Chiefs staff back in 2013 when Andy Reid became the head coach and was promoted to offensive coordinator back in 2018. His name has been on a short list for several coaching vacancies since that time, but many believe 2021 will be the year it finally comes to fruition.
Early Monday morning, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that two additional teams have requested interviews with Bieniemy.
