Dustin Colquitt, a 15-year NFL and Kansas City Chiefs veteran punter, took to Instagram to discuss his football future.

Dustin Colquitt’s Announcement

Colquitt was a 2-time Pro Bowler (2012 and 2016) and averaged 44.8 yards per put throughout his illustrious career. During the 2017 NFL season, he became the Chiefs all-time leader in both punts and punting yards passing Jerrel Wilson. Colquitt also holds the Chiefs record for longest punt (81 yards back in 2007).

Speculation indicated that Colquitt was asked to take a pay cut to remain on the team which led to his release. Colquitt has since made it clear that this decision was made by the Chiefs.

He received $2.965 million in full guarantees including his 2018 base salary and a $1.95 million signing bonus.
