The Duke Blue Devils advanced to the Elite 8 of the NCAA Tournament on Thursday night by beating Texas Tech 78-73. The game was a back-and-forth tournament classic that saw several lead changes.
Patrick Mahomes, of course, played football at Texas Tech from 2014-2017 and is an avid Red Raider fan. After Tweeting that he might attend the Elite 8 game Saturday if Tech wins, the Duke Twitter account decided to have some fun with the former NFL MVP.
Duke’s Twitter account uncovered this photo of Patrick in a Duke jersey and jokingly urged him to come to San Francisco for the game anyway. Moral of the story: never allow yourself to be photographed in a Duke basketball jersey.
