The Chiefs have decided to keep Travis Kelce on the sidelines for tonight’s season-opening game against the Detroit Lions. The decision came just hours after Kelce worked out with trainers to test the knee and the pain level involved. Kelce suffered a bone bruise/hyperextension during Tuesday’s practice but the injury is not said to be a long-term issue.

The Chiefs next game is September 17th against the Jaguars and it would be very likely Kelce returns by that time.
