The Kansas City Chiefs have called the city of Kansas City, MO home since moving from Dallas in 1962. It has always seemed like a formality that the team would stay in the city they’ve called home for 60 years but that may not be the case.
According to Kevin Clark, host of Slow News Day and The Ringer NFL Show, Chiefs President Mark Donovan has stated that the team has considered options in the state of Kansas.
The Chiefs’ current stadium GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium, was built in 1972. The Chiefs have a lease with Jackson County currently in place which would keep the team there until 2031 at the earliest.
