Missouri football landed its 14th commitment for the class of 2021 on Wednesday with the addition of 3-star JUCO CB JaDarrius Perkins. The former Oregon commit took to Twitter to announce his decision.

The 6’2, 190 pound Perkins played previously at Gulf Coast (MS) Junior College and is a former JUCO All-American. Perkins chose Missouri over schools like Oklahoma, Mississippi State and Oregon. Auburn, supposedly, made a late push as well but Perkins, Missouri felt like family.

Q&A With JaDarrius Perkins

GASN: You chose Missouri over some really big programs like Oklahoma, Oregon, Mississippi State in Auburn. In the end, why was Missouri the choice?

Perkins: Missouri just feel so much like family and the relationship I built with these guy over the past year is unbelievable. I feel I can make a difference and huge impact on this team I’m last piece to this puzzle. I’m just so ready to entertain the fans in Columbia and make a difference in this community!

GASN: What has your relationship been like with coach Drinkwitz and the rest of the Missouri staff?

Perkins: Oh tremendous relationship between us from Coach Gibbs, to Harbison, Drink , and my guy Beyah left for Arizona but him as well.

GASN: How important is it for you to play football in the SEC? Is that where you really wanted to be?

Perkins: Oh man major, no doubt the SEC is the closest thing to the pros! This is a great conference and I’m just really ready to compete and Help my team win football games.

GASN: Do you feel like going to JUCO route out of high school prepared you for this moment?

Perkins: Oh definitely it instilled so much in me as a man on and off the field I couldn’t be more appreciative of the process!

GASN: Coach Drinkwitz seems to be really putting together something special, did other recruits reach out to you during this process?

Perkins: Well yeah for sure but I mainly talked with my guys Ennis Rakestraw and Jarvis Ware, mostly guys who were on the team already.

GASN: You have a rare combination of length and, speed, do you feel like this is your best attribute as a player? What do you want to get better at?

Perkins: I do feel like those are some of my strong points definitely but I pride myself on my Football IQ. (When it comes to getting better) I would just really love to get the ball in the end zone for my defense.

GASN: We are all hoping next year is a better year, are you looking forward to coming out to Faurot Field and seeing (hopefully) a full crowd out there with an electrically charged atmosphere?

Perkins: Oh yeah it’s gonna be Crazy I’m overly excited to possibly of performing in front of so many Mizzou Fans! I would really love to entertain and can’t wait to do so in Columbia.
