According to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, the Chiefs are signing veteran running back Ronald Jones to a one-year deal. This move will help bolster the team’s questionable backfield depth.

Jones, just 24, had two seasons in Tampa Bay where he gained 1,000 scrimmage yards and figures to be an integral part of the Chiefs’ offense in 2022. The deal is said to be worth up to $5 million with incentives meaning the Chiefs have now signed three players (JuJu Smith-Schuster, Marquez Valdez-Scantling and Ronald Jones) for less than it would have taken to extend Tyreek Hill.
