The Chiefs, known to be very interested in making a trade before the deadline, have pulled the trigger on Giants receiver Kadarius Toney a source confirms. Toney, 23 joins the Chiefs after having 39 catches for over 400 yards in his rookie season in 2021.
The Chiefs will give up a third-round and a 2023 sixth-round pick in 2023 in the trade. The move immediately bolsters the Chiefs receiving corps and Toney could be a key component to the team making a Super Bowl run.
While Toney showed promise as a rookie in 2021, he only has two catches for 0 yards thus far in 2022. He and fellow receiver Kenny Golladay have both been seldom used this season for reasons undetermined.
