Overland Park Chiefs fan Matthew Chris has recently started a petition on change.org to update the current Chiefs logo which has been in existence since 1972.
“While Chiefs fans love the arrowhead logo, it has not been updated since 1972. The intent of this petition is not to replace the logo, but to update it. Let’s modernize the arrowhead and KC lettering. Keep the arrowhead and keep the KC, but update it. Similar to what the Dolphins did with their modernized logo.”

Chris started this petition to Owner, Chairman, and CEO, Kansas City Chiefs Clark Hunt and currently only has 50 supporters.
One fan commented on the petition:
“I will never try to remove history. There is nothing wrong with 49 years of the same. Im 50 and would never let some fool try to change me. Why would you consider changing the Chiefs logo? Do you really hate your self that much?”
Chris clearly states in the petition that the proposed change has no political agenda and has no aim at taking away the arrowhead or existing traditions.
