Orlando, FL- Many of the nation’s top high school football prospects were on full display on Wednesday during the Under Armour Next + All America game at Camping World Stadium. Team Ice (led by Lee’s Summit North DE Williams Nwaneri) defeated team Fire 39-9 in dominant fashion in front of a crowd of about 5,000.
Nwaneri is rated by ESPN as the #1 DE prospect in America and the fifth overall player in the class of 2024. Despite being heavily recruited by each of the nation’s top schools, Nwaneri chose to stay home to play at Mizzou. We caught up with the five-star recruit after the game to find out if Nwaneri ever wavered during the recruiting process.
“Nah, I was locked in the whole time.” Nwaneri said when asked if he ever thought about looking elsewhere. “I’m just ready to get on campus and add to (Mizzou’s recent success).”
Nwaneri had two tackles (1 solo) during the Under Armour Next + All America game and believes that he can now look forward to the next phase of his football career.
